These Terms apply to all visitors, registered users, and anyone who accesses or uses Abide in any way. Please read them carefully alongside our Privacy Policy.
Abide is an AI-powered Bible companion web application that provides Scripture guidance, prayer journaling, reading plans, community prayer features, and faith-centered study tools. The Service is available on any modern web browser at no cost to start, with optional Premium subscription plans that unlock additional features.
Abide is designed to support your personal spiritual life. It is not a substitute for pastoral counsel, church community, professional mental health care, or medical advice. Abide consistently encourages users to seek community, accountability, and support from their local church and qualified professionals.
To access certain features of Abide, you must create an account by providing a valid email address and password. You agree to:
You may not create accounts for others without their consent, or use another person's account without authorization.
The free tier of Abide provides access to a limited number of AI-powered Bible questions per day (currently 5), unlimited prayer journaling, a Bible reader, and community prayer wall access. These limits exist to ensure fair access and service sustainability.
We reserve the right to adjust free tier limits at any time with reasonable notice. Attempting to circumvent usage limits — such as by creating multiple accounts — is a violation of these Terms.
Premium subscriptions are billed through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge the applicable fees to your payment method on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, depending on the plan you select). All fees are stated in US dollars.
You may cancel your Premium subscription at any time. Upon cancellation, your Premium access remains active through the end of the current billing period. We do not offer prorated refunds for unused portions of a billing period, except where required by applicable law.
If you believe you were charged in error, contact us at abide.bible.companion@gmail.com within 30 days of the charge.
We may change subscription prices with at least 30 days' notice. Continued use of Premium after a price change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new price.
Leader and Group Premium plans are subject to the same cancellation terms above. Group Premium includes access for up to 15 members; the plan holder is responsible for the entire subscription fee regardless of how many members are active.
You agree to use Abide only for lawful purposes and in ways that do not infringe the rights of others. You must not:
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these standards without prior notice.
Abide uses artificial intelligence to generate Scripture guidance, reflections, and responses. While we work hard to ensure responses are grounded in Scripture and theologically thoughtful, AI-generated content may contain errors, omissions, or interpretations that do not reflect the full counsel of any particular tradition or denomination.
AI responses from Abide should be treated as a starting point for personal study and reflection — not as authoritative theological or doctrinal statements. Always verify important spiritual questions with Scripture itself, trusted pastors, or qualified religious leaders.
Abide is not a crisis service. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency or thoughts of self-harm, please contact a crisis line such as the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988 in the US) or your local emergency services immediately.
The Abide name, logo, application design, and original written content are owned by Abide and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our materials without written permission.
Bible text provided through the Service uses public domain translations (World English Bible and King James Version). Your own prayer journal entries, notes, and content remain your property. By posting to the community prayer wall, you grant Abide a limited license to display that content to other users of the Service.
Your use of Abide is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Service, you consent to the data practices described in the Privacy Policy.
You own your data. Here is how to delete it.
You can delete individual prayer journal entries, conversation threads, and notes at any time directly within the Abide app.
To request complete deletion of your account and all associated personal data — including your prayer journal, conversation history, and profile — email us at the address below. We will process all deletion requests within 30 days and confirm when complete.
When you submit a deletion request, please include the email address associated with your Abide account. Note that some data may be retained for a limited period where required by law or for legitimate business purposes (such as billing records), but personal content and identifying information will be removed.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
We make no warranty that AI-generated responses are theologically accurate, complete, or suitable for any specific religious tradition. Abide is a personal devotional tool, not a doctrinal authority.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ABIDE AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
Our total liability to you for any claims arising from your use of Abide shall not exceed the total amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $10 USD if you have not made any payments.
You may stop using Abide and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these Terms, abuse of the Service, or for any other reason at our discretion, with or without notice.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including disclaimers, limitation of liability, and intellectual property provisions — will continue to apply.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users via email or an in-app notice. Continued use of Abide after updated Terms are posted constitutes your acceptance.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Abide shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation before any formal proceedings.
